Last year’s version of “The Beast” was the biggest ever produced: 399 scouting reports, nearly 1,700 prospect rankings and 300,000 words.

This year? There’s even more information to enjoy. The 2023 NFL Draft guide — the fifth published as part of The Athletic — features 401 scouting reports, covering everyone from the superstars at the top of the draft like Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud to small-school, under-the-radar prospects whose names you might not hear until NFL rookie camps open. Across 15 positions (counting kickers, punters and long snappers), there are 1,893 player rankings and hundreds of college football programs represented.
Hopefully, you’ll also find “The Beast” easier to navigate this time around. Each chapter on the “Contents” page is clickable and will take you directly to any positional group or the top 100 board. Atop almost every page (there are 307 of them), you’ll also find a “Contents” tab — click it and it’ll bring you back to the list of chapters.
As always, each prospect’s available testing data is NFL-verified, and those 401 scouting reports include a mix of biographical detail, notes from film study and insight from NFL scouts and others. It’s the result of a year-round commitment to making “The Beast” the most comprehensive draft guide available.
